Patricia Beyer Morton Meagher

Patricia Beyer Morton Meagher, 78, was born January 31, 1946 to John & Patricia Beyer in Oceanside, California. Jesus granted her eternal freedom at midnight, April 8, 2024 at Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Although unable to view Monday's eclipse, she loved all things beautiful & otherworldly. Her passing after that event is fitting. Patty was truly a blazing star, never one to be ignored.

Growing up in Colorado gave Patricia a deep thankfulness for God's amazing creation. Grandpa Ross and his Cherokee roots spurred exploration near their home on Lookout Mountain. Patricia met Sonny Morton while riding her horse in Littleton. After their elopement to Mexico, they settled in El Dorado, Arkansas and Pat became a proud graduate of EHS. She learned work ethics at Samples Dept. Store and Dwayne Smith Florist. One of her favorite mentors was local icon, D.R. James, Jr.

Patricia credited her father with believing in her and helping fund her dream, The Flower Shoppe. She and Sonny expanded the business to include a Western Union office, wedding equipment, specialty flocked Christmas trees, and delivery for Ragsdale Pharmacy. Patty even pitched on her Flower Shoppe softball team. Breaks from Arkansas' sweltering summers were enjoyed at Calion Lake and the Ouachita River sand bar. Patricia and her feisty bay stallion, Rebel, joined the El Dorado Riding Club for parades, rides throughout Union County, and an epic trip along the Old Spanish Trail.

Life changes took her to Little Rock. After returning to El Dorado, Patty opened La Pegasus Florist, inspired by 1940's "Fantasia." She joined First Church of God and deepened her faith, professing her salvation through baptism. Her precious sister in Christ, Mary Dean Setliff, loved her like family. Patricia prayed for her wonderful employees and followed Christ's forgiving nature. She and Sonny remained friends after their divorce, working at the shop during busy seasons. Our family was blessed by their example, never having to divide our time at holidays or special events. All were welcome.

Few people find love in the sunset of life. Patricia was an exception. Patrick Meagher gave his last 26 years as her devoted husband. Pat & Patty delighted in making others feel special, hosting fabulous trips, and bringing family together at Razorback games. Generosity became Patricia's great joy, supporting her church, UCAPS, and Wounded Warriors, plus gifting "perks" to many she encountered.

Preceding her in death were grandparents, Ross & Rosa Carmichael and John & Ottilie Beyer; aunts, Sylvia Carmichael and Zibby; her parents; father- and mother-in-law, Manuel & Hazel Morton; sister, Jean Landis Raymond; ex-husband, "Sonny" M.M. Morton; and husband, Patrick Meagher.

Patricia's love lives on in the legacy of her daughters, Rosalee Isabelle Morton Meeks & Johnye Ross Morton (Jason) Gober; grandchildren, Christina, Stephen, Casey, & Heather Meeks, Bayley Gober, and Brooke Gober (Grant) Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Noah Darnall, "Mia" Midori & Avalon Meeks, and Sye & Bristol Meeks; siblings, Lou Ann (Dan) Link, David (April) Beyer, and Cherlyn (Jim) Pilcher; sisters-in-law, Rozanne (Frank) Pope, Patti (Glenn) Weber, and Pam (Clarence) Cooley; brothers-in-law, Michael Morton and Larry Meagher; extended family & friends, and beloved pet, Tiger.
