Jean Butcher, 91, of El Dorado, AR passed away on April 17, 2024 at Hudson Nursing Home. She was born October 30, 1932 in El Dorado. She was the daughter of Ollie Evans and Mary Caldwell Evans.
Jean worked approximately fifty years for Union Abstract Company. She loved to read, work crossword puzzles, cook, sew, and work in her flower garden. She was a member of Wyatt Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband of 51 years, Roger Butcher; sisters, Oleta Stamper, Dorothy Martisek, Marguerite Parks, and Marie Darden; brothers, Melvin Evans and Vernon Evans.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Roscoe (George) of El Dorado and her son, Richard Butcher (Natalie) of El Dorado; grandchildren, Derek Roscoe (Sarah) of Dennison, TX, Kevin Roscoe (Barbara) of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Stephanie Butcher of Maumelle, AR; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 22 at 12:00 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Home in the chapel. Funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Adam Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
