Each Case Manager, called PROMISE Connectors, will be responsible for coordinating PROMISE grant activities for 20 youth and their families in Union County. PROMISE will hire 50 Connectors throughout the state. It is estimated that the Southern Arkansas Region will have 7 Connectors when all are hired, with 1 Connector in Union County.

Required Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree required; three years of experience in advising/community service. Ability to communicate effectively to a broad and diverse student population; strong organizational and planning skills; time management and record keeping skills. Ability to effectively use technology in the academic advising process, competence in POISE and Blue Eon (or Who’s Next? student intake and tracking system); Microsoft Office Suite—Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of the Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) and assessment instruments such as ACT, SAT, COMPASS and PRAXIS is essential.

Preferred Qualifications. Previous work experience advising students in academic programs and curriculums in the health sciences. Experience in student services in a community college with at-risk students; understanding of processes for assisting students in receiving grants, scholarships and other financial aid (FASFA application).
